It’s been a while, but I want to reflect more on the awesome attributes of my God this year, so what better way than by admiring His beautiful creation? Travel with me this week to Ireland.
God’s hand can be seen in every climate: in the cold, untouched snow resting high atop the mountains, and in the steaming sand inching into the sparkling warm waters; in the dry, humid deserts and in the arctic ice, God’s beauty shines bright.
In Ireland, though, God’s beauty shines green. From the moment your train peaks its head out of the blindfolded tunnel, it’s God’s luscious green grass that entrances you. As your plane glides lower to the runway, it’s the rich hunter hues that excite your nerves. As you aimlessly wander through the sleepy harbor towns, it’s the seamless way the green fades to rock that makes you long to be Irish. The seaside helps the cause, too, for the booming waves lull you into pleasant daydreams as you wait for the roar of the evening train, winding it’s way into your Neverland.
The wind from the rustling waters, though crisp, is a steady reminder of life and care and comfort, all given by the Creator of this bountiful place. And the clouds, damp with an oncoming rain, can’t deter the sunny disposition this beautiful, magical place provides. Truly God blessed His people by creating such gorgeous, awe-inducing places as Ireland. How blessed we are to be able to see His hand…through sunsets and rainbows and gorgeous greens and blues and oranges; through snow and sand and mountain and valley.
