Next week is an exciting time for The Light Network. For a year now, the purpose of TLN has been to create relevant content for God’s people to better equip them in their Christian fight. We’ve done that through a series of different podcasts that fill different niches and reach out to different audiences. A special thank you to all of you who have supported The Light Network, been a part of it, or have shared it with others. You are what it’s all about and we’re so thankful for your support and encouragement to us.
Next week, though, a new phase begins! In addition to our current shows (Biblical Manliness, The Book Club, Culture Shock & Preachers in Training), new shows will fill the spaces left vacant by some of the ones that have retired (Navigating the New Testament, Ready to Worship, The Salvation Podcast, and Under the Juniper Tree). These shows are going to be AWESOME and I am so excited to share them with you.
Some of them will be more awesome than others (aka all of them will be better than the new one I’m doing!), but each of them fill a unique niche that we hope will help you in your walk with God.
Monday – The Book Club and The Royal Family Podcast
Tuesday – Biblical Manliness
Wednesday – Culture Shock and Wifey Wednesdays/This Christian Life
Thursday – Preachers in Training and The Church on Trial
Friday – Late Night at TLN
See some shows on there you aren’t familiar with? Here’s a rundown of what each new show is about:
The Royal Family Podcast – This is a show designed with God’s women in mind as they go about living their lives as members of the royal family of God. Each week, I will be paralleling a story about the British Monarchy with God’s Royal Family.
Wifey Wednesdays – This is the first guest-oriented show for women that focuses on the Titus 2 principle: learning to love our husbands and our children, and being the keepers at home that God intends for us to be. This show will be released twice a month, alternating Wednesdays with This Christian Life.
This Christian Life – If you’re familiar with the popular podcast This American Life, then you’ll understand the concept for this show, where Chris Clevenger talks with extraordinary Christians who are dedicated to living out Christianity in their everyday, ordinary lives.
The Church on Trial – This is the most important podcast on The Light Network. It’s also unique, in that Brad, Chris, Robert & Torrey all record this podcast together. The premise is this: restoring New Testament Christianity, and taking a closer look at what the Bible says and comparing that to our churches today. You DON’T want to miss this podcast!
Late Night at TLN – This show is mildly ridiculous and we’re okay with that. As it claims, this is “the family-friendly late night variety show”. We all know how late night television goes, but this podcast is nothing like that. Similar in style, but completely different, family-friendly content. And, it’s recorded live each Thursday as 7PM with a live chat room and Big Time Bible Trivia! Be sure to check iTunes for the backlog of these fun, mildly ridiculous, highly entertaining episodes.
You can find all of these podcasts on our website, thelightnetwork.tv, and most of them are already available for subscription via iTunes. We’d love for you to subscribe to these and listen to them on your way to work, with your kids on the way to school, or while you’re cooking supper. It’s an easy way to get into God’s word and learn more about His will for you–or to simply kick back and enjoy good, Christian humor and fun. Whatever you need, TLN has something for you, and if not…it’s probably somewhere on the docket for later!
