As many of you may know, I am a passionate individual. There are so many things on this earth that I love so very much! All of my life, I have been an all-or-nothing individual; giving my all to projects, sports, and most importantly, God. Recently, this all-or-nothing personality quirk has led me in the direction of something different: this website. While I have always been passionate about writing, blogging, and chronicling the events of my life (see journals dated back to 6th grade–or wait, please don’t), I have never really been serious with them. Now, as a married, professional 20-something, I feel it is time to grow up, and make this into something real. That is the reason why you see a podcasts section, a blogging section, and a photos section. Each of these are made up of a different part of my life–a part that I am passionate about. The latter is the focus of today’s post.
I have been an avid photography lover for quite some time. Dating back to who knows when, my Christmas wish lists were always cameras and film (see, it’s been that long) and photo albums. All throughout my middle and high school years, I was the one taking pictures at camps and retreats and youth rallies, chronicling them in scrapbooks that were less than impressive. Still, photography was important to me, and capturing precious moments was an addiction I couldn’t shake.
My love of photography has only increased, and my recent trip abroad only rekindled the fire. That is why, coming soon to a website near you, you will find an updated photos section, complete with new, abstract photos of my recent trip, as well as portrait shots of past engagement shoots I have done. If you (or anyone you know) is interested in having photos taken, or purchasing the rights to some of my digital shots, please let me know. You can either comment here, or email me at emilymhatfield@gmail.com.
While I am a lover of photography, I am by no means the greatest photographer in the world. Still, I have a passion for it, and a love for capturing beautiful moments and places. And, as I have recently discovered, taking pictures of places may be the real passion, but I cannot express the joy I feel when taking photos of a couple so in love that the shots take themselves.
Again, let me know if you are interested or know someone who is. Otherwise, feel free to browse the photos sections and let me know what you think!
