There aren’t any days that compare with this one. 27 years ago on this very day my favorite person in the entire world breathed his first breath, and 27 years later, he’s taking mine away. I am so blessed to have Robert as my husband, and in honor of his birthday, I am going to do the annual birthday post! Here are 27 things about my 27 year old:
- He loves Apple products, but if you know him at all, you already knew that.
- He loves Mello Yello. It’s a lot. It rivals his love of all things Apple, which should tell you something. In other news, if you see him today, you should give him one. It’s much cheaper than giving him an Apple product.
- He loves ME. I have never experienced a love like this, and I am so thankful that he shows me every single day. He has taught me what Christ’s love looks like, and I am forever indebted to my remarkable, Christ-like husband.
- He is an amazing speaker. I could seriously sit and listen to him all day, every day. His insights into the scripture amaze me, and his clear and concise delivery blow me away every time.
- He’s the co-director of The Light Network. Seriously, he puts so much time into those podcasts and I am so proud of him for using his “off” time to continue to work for the Lord and further the kingdom.
- His hobbies are all work related. Robert doesn’t do many mindless things. Instead, he’s always busy working for the Lord, and it’s my favorite thing about him!
- He made me get a dog!! Ok, he didn’t make me, but I really didn’t want one and he did, so after some time I looked on craigslist and found Duffy. The rest is pretty much history, right? I LOVE Duffy. Robert’s ideas are awesome.
- He eats everything I fix. I am by no stretch of the imagination a good cook, but Robert has never complained, even when I completely botched the ravioli that one time.
- He lets me sleep!! I am a weird human, in that I need so much sleep to be a functioning adult. Fortunately, Robert gets up with Duffy so many times to let me keep sleeping, and he doesn’t complain, and he’s mostly just incredible.
- He is so very passionate. Everything he does, he does it heartily, and it is amazing to watch him work.I am so proud of him for all the things he squeezes into one day!
- He’s so good with kids!! We spent last week with some friends in Cleveland, TN and seeing Robert read to and play with their kids was so precious. If God blesses us with children, Robert is going to be an amazing dad!
- He is an AWESOME husband. Y’all. I don’t know how I managed to become the most blessed person in the history of the world, but I am, because Robert is the most amazing husband ever, and my life is so wonderful with him by my side. So thankful God saw fit that we should create a life together. I pray I can be as good of a wife to him as he is husband to me!
- He is an AWESOME podcaster. Have you listened to The New You? You need to. Immediately. It’s awesome.
- He is the best at changing his voice. His impersonations are SPOT on. Listen to Late Night at TLN. Just funny.
- He is a remarkable didgeridoo player. Please, listen to this episode.
- He travels with me. I still can’t believe we got to go to Greece and Turkey. Maybe after this post we’ll go to Israel?! Wink Wink..Nudge Nudge.
- He’s an amazing graphics guy. I love everything he does for my website and my podcasts. He doesn’t think much of his skill, but he’s amazing! As is evidenced by all of our TLN podcast art.
- He is the biggest encouragement in the world. Last weekend, I spoke at a youth day with him (obviously I was only for the girls) and I know I couldn’t have done it without him and his encouragement. Along those lines…
- He makes me get out of my comfort zone. Wifey Wednesdays terrified me, even though I thought of the idea. But he is always encouraging me, and I am so thankful he pushed me to do it, because I love all of the things I’m learning!!!!
- He loves Christmas. It’s May, so I’m not supposed to say the word Christmas, but I can’t even stress how much he loves Christmastime. It’s just below Apple products and Mello Yello.
- He is so genuine and trustworthy. I know a lot of men who are neither of those things. I know a lot of situations where men aren’t being the husbands or fathers they ought because they’re lying to their families and hurting them. Robert is so wonderful to include me, share with me, and always tell me everything. I love our relationship and I love how open he is with me
- He may have a bit of pen OCD. Just don’t mess up his pens. =)
- He is a tech guru. He has taught me pretty much everything I know about Macs, video equipment, podcasting, and everything in between. Have a tech question? Just ask my awesomely talented and tech in-the-know husband!
- He’s the BEST song leader. In the world. That is all.
- He sings amazing tenor, but he’d never admit to that.
- He’s had my heart since way before either of us like to admit. I knew that if we gave in to that first date, I’d marry this boy. Best decision of life.
- HE IS MY BEST FRIEND. From day one, Robert’s been my best friend. Now, we’re almost three years of marriage and three years of dating in, and nothing’s changed. Every day I feel like I’m just getting to live life with my best friend, and it is the most amazing thing in the world.
This list doesn’t even begin to describe Robert, but, it’s a start. I love this man with all of my heart and I am thankful we’ve been given another day to live as one.
