Today I love….
- Doing my family’s laundry. It reminds me that I have a wonderful husband, whose job it is to preach the gospel.
- Washing the dishes. It is a healthy reminder that I have food to eat and a heavenly Father who provides for my every need.
- Buying groceries. It reminds me of my God-given role as the keeper of our modest home, and gives me great joy to know that I have a husband to cook for every night.
- Teaching the teenage girls’ Bible class. Those girls bring such a joy to my life every single week. Opening the Word of God to others is beautiful, and seeing God in each of their faces and in their precious prayers, it is definitely a highlight of my week.
- Hearing my husband preach. Today, his sermon was on marriage. It would have been a hard sermon to listen to and respect if my husband weren’t loving and kind and wonderful to me day in and day out. I am so blessed to have such a Christ-like husband, who loves me and cares for me.
- Gathering with my church family. Gather 200 worldly people together from all walks of life, and they probably won’t have a lot in common. Gather 200 Christians together and they have the very most important thing in common: their love for God. It is amazing to be able to gather with this specific group each week–their love and encouragement is outstanding.
- Spending lazy afternoons in our home. God has richly blessed us, and each time I have the opportunity to simply relax in this home He has given me, I am reminded of how much He cares for me. Truly Robert and I have been blessed with our life in Pulaski. Not only that, though, but it helps me to feel like Pulaski is truly my home. Robert grew up here, so it’s easy at times to simply feel like it’s his home. But our house has helped me so much to feel like Pulaski is my home, too. Having a wonderful husband helps =)
What kinds of things do you love today, and in what ways does it help you to recognize all the ways God has blessed you? Truly it is good for Christians to count their blessings, so that we can properly thank our God for every good and perfect gift (James 1:17).
