Last week, The Light Network announced some exciting things (did you miss it? find it here). Of the brand new things that TLN has in store, a couple of them directly affect me, and I’d like to share a couple of them with you today.
First, my podcast Navigating the New Testament will take a who-knows-how-long/maybe-indefinite hiatus. While the show will forever live on in the iTunes store and in archived format on our website, new content will not be published weekly as is the case presently. Why? Well, frankly, after 27 episodes (to date), I’m running out of New Testament places that I have traveled to! Should the Lord bless Robert and I with the opportunity to ever travel to Israel, I would love to pick Navigating back up and share more photos, experiences, and scriptures along those lines! Until then, though, I will be taking a break from producing new, regular content for that show.
The good news is, in the place of Navigating the New Testament, I will be hosting another show on The Light Network designed for women! This podcast sticks closely to another one of my interests (besides traveling), and that is keeping up with news of the Royals. From that interest arose the concept for the brand new, coming- in-August podcast aptly named The Royal Family Podcast.
This podcast, set to be released each Monday, will deal specifically with current news involving the British royals, but applied in a scriptural way, as Christians are the true Royal Family. It is my aim to study scriptures that will enable all of us to act more like the daughters of the King that we are. This podcast, I hope, will encourage us, strengthen us, and excite us about going to heaven to be with the King one day! I do hope you will tune in on Mondays starting in August!
The next addition to The Light Network which directly involves me is yet another women’s podcast, this time set a little more to a niche. And, yes, this is where you come in. The new show is called Wifey Wednesdays (can you tell which day it will be released?), and the premise is to deal with all things wifery! We want to better equip women in every area of being a wife, be that devotionals, recipes, helpful hints, parenting tips, etc. The aim of this podcast will be to encourage wives and to empower them to be the kind of wives God would have them to be (thus meeting all of the qualities mentioned in Proverbs 31).
This show’s format will be a bit different, in that it will be the first women’s podcast on the Light Network to include guests. I do hope that even some of you will participate in the Wifey Wednesdays discussions and bring your area of expertise to the table so that all of us wives can glean great lessons from you! If you have a special talent, tip, or topic, please let me know! You can email me at emily@thelightnetwork.tv or emily@emilyhat.com! Or, of course, comment below and I will get in touch with you!
I do hope that you will be praying for these efforts, and that you will support them. Obviously the “support” isn’t intended simply for me, but for God’s word. The point of The Light Network is to spread the gospel of Christ to as many people as possible–and one of those ways is by making all of the these podcasts available in the iTunes store. It is our aim that through this medium we can reach souls across the globe who are interested in these particular areas. And so, again, I ask for your prayers as we begin these two shows!
